After the rally, the plan is to have a talking circle gathering. One of our Sto:lo communities has allowed us the use of its’ hall.
The talking circle will give the opportunity to canvass grassroots opinion about the core issue of the rally; how to stop Kinder Morgan’s pipeline expansion.
This is not going to be an easy fight! We are up against the federal government, the provincial government and Big Oil!
And at the end of the day, it’s not just about stopping a pipeline; it’s about transforming society! It’s about creating an ecologically sane and sustainable society! A society that also honours its obligations for fair and just relations with indigenous peoples!
As a grassroots movement, then, we have to talk about how we are going to get to where we want to go!
