Home: Our Way

Join Rosemary Georgeson and Olivia C. Davies on Tuesday, November 1st at Firehall Arts Centre for this free workshop “Home: Our Way” *** a women’s writing and movement circle *** presented by 13th Annual Heart of the City Festival.

How do we define “home” and create safety and refuge in our dwellings? In this community dance and writing workshop for people who identify as women, we will share our definitions of home and explore movement grounded in unique personal expression. We will weave dance and storytelling improvisation and awaken the connectivity in our bodies and our words; tapping into experience, thought, feeling, memory and dream to find words to take from the body to the page and off the page into the body. Experienced and inexperienced movers and writers who want to play are welcome. Facilitators: Rosemary Georgeson (Coast Salish) & Olivia C. Davies (Metis-Anishnawbe).
